Floating Nightclubs in Gateshead

Tuxedo Princess & Tuxedo Royale

The Tuxedo Princess and Tuxedo Royalewere car ferries in a previous life and were used as permanently moored floating nightclubs from the 1980s to the 2000s. The Princess went to the Clyde in Glasgow, and the Royale on the Tees in Middlesbrough. In the late 80's there was an interest by a group of Saudis to take the Princess to Jeddah

In December 2007 a farewell party for 300 invited guests was held on the Tuxedo Princess. The ship was finally towed from her mooring on the Tyne on 27 July 2008.
