Item Description:  The cinema was opened by the Rector of Winlaton on 22 November 1937. 'Winlaton was becoming almost a derelict village, but what had given him great joy as he passed that corner was to see the wonderful improvement, the building up, the widening of the street and the approach of the local entertainment'. The Rex closed in 1967 to become a bingo club.
