2012 Flood

28th June 2012

On 28 June 2012, 50mm rain fell in around 2 hours. For Gateshead, this was equivalent to the expected rainfall for the whole month of June. This, and further rainfall in early August, caused widespread, localised flooding incidents across the region. Further heavy rainstorms continued throughout the remainder of the year.
